Christmas holidays, visitors to the BXSea Oceanarium overflow

The new tourist attraction opened on Friday, December 15 2023, attracting tens of thousands of visitors in 10 days. This project, which has been under construction since 2019, has become a new tourist destination in South Tangerang City.

In the momentum of Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024, the BXSea Oceanarium will become a magnet for visitors from various regions in the country. In a day, up to 2,500 visitors can come from the target of 1,000 people per day.

Its location in Bintaro Jaya Xchange Mall 2 is an attraction in itself, especially for the people of Tangerang and Jakarta. Long queues were seen at the entrance to this place which boasts 25 thousand marine biota.

To be able to visit this place, people only need to spend 150 thousand rupiah on weekdays and 175 thousand rupiah on holidays.

As soon as you enter this location, visitors will be presented with an animation that brings the imagination into life in the sea.

Next, visitors are presented with a giant aquarium which accommodates various kinds of marine life in the world. It's not surprising that this viral place is the right location for people to welcome the Christmas and New Year holidays.

One of the visitors from Yogyakarta, Fitri, said this place could be a reference for educational tourism for children. "My husband happens to be from Tangerang. I came home and while in Yogya saw this place on social media. So I was curious and wanted to take my children here," he said, Sunday, December 24 2023.

After making a long journey in this 7,354 square meter area, his son felt happy. Moreover, advanced technology is provided to guide the visitors who come.

"The concept is good. Apart from the original marine biota on display at this place, we can also find out the name and origin of the biota just by using the tablet provided," he said. It's not just marine biota, said Fitri, many reptiles are displayed to educate children.

"The good thing is that we were presented with a situation that was similar to the natural habitat of the animals here. Then we saw several performances by several animals such as otters and piranha fish," he said.

Meanwhile, BXSea Project Manager, Agung, said that the BXSea Oceanarium is part of a mixed used development project which combines a 4 star hotel and the addition of a shopping center area in one area at Bintaro Jaya Xchange. "Our aquarium has been under construction since 2019 and has been opened," he said.

The BXSea Oceanarium facility itself, said Agung, consists of two floors with an area of approximately 7,354 square meters. The BXSea Oceanarium has 20 journeys, 37 aquariums, 44 displays and 10 terrariums and will be inhabited by approximately 25 thousand marine biota.

The construction of the BXSea Oceanarium was carried out by Polin Aquariums, a company that focuses on providing large aquariums throughout the world. BXSea Oceanarium, said Agung, is still developing and waiting for other exported marine biota to arrive here. He said that later there would be several African penguins. "We are still processing several permits for protected animals," he said.

Agung said that since this place started operating on December 15 2023, more than 20 thousand visitors have come. "The number of visitors who attended on weekdays reached 1,500 people. Then, last weekend it reached 2,500 people. This is truly extraordinary enthusiasm," he said.
