There is an educational vehicle to get to know aquatic life and underwater life in South Tangerang, namely Oceanarium BXSea.
This place is officially opened to the public on Friday (15/12/2023). Still in the soft launching stage, BXSea Project Manager Sri Agung Agus Putranto said that there was a uniqueness presented.
"Not only displays, we also have themes such as the largest exotic rain forest area (in Indonesia). The theme is Kalimantan rainforest," Agung said during the opening at BXc Mall 2, Friday (15/12/2023).
He claimed that this kind of theme had never existed in Indonesian tourist attractions before.
Furthermore, he said, BXSea occupies a two-story area with an area of 7,354 square meters. This aquarium is located between BXc Mall 1 and BXc Mall 2. He explained, the process of introducing fish into the aquarium is carried out gradually.
"There are 140 species that are included in stages, for this initial around 17,000 marine life, then the second phase of around 25,000 biota which is scheduled for the grand opening in March 2024," he explained.
With Journey Aquarium which is claimed to be the longest in Indonesia, BXSea consists of 54 aquarium displays, namely 44 fresh and sea water aquariums, and 10 terrariums.
According to Agung, their Oceanarium is made different from indoor sea rides owned by other developers.
It offers a journey or experience along 485 meters from the entrance to the exit. In addition, he said, there is the largest underwater tunnel in Southeast Asia, and the largest dome in Indonesia.
"We also have the largest channel in Southeast Asia. It is 2.8 meters wide and 2.4 meters high. If the length is only 35 meters, it is still inferior to competitors, but if it is big? We are the biggest," he explained.
In addition, visitors can also enjoy additional entertainment, namely 9 sun with immersive video performances.
BXSea is located at Bintaro Jaya Xchange Mall 2 B1-B2, Pondok Aren District, South Tangerang, Banten.
For the entrance ticket price, it is divided into Short Journey and Long Journey. Short Journey on weekdays (Monday-Thursday) is IDR 85,000, while on weekends (Friday-Sunday, and national holidays) is IDR 95,000.
While long journey weeekdays is IDR 150,000, and long journey weekend is IDR 175,000. On the short journey, visitors can explore 8 areas. While the long journey, you can explore a total of 20 areas.
"We also provide group tickets for buyers of at least 20 people. We provide a discount 10 percent cheaper than individual (regular) tickets," he said.
